Hi, I'm Juno — Junicorn / J.R as an artist — and I've been making art ever since I learned to hold a pencil as a child. Even back then I knew that the only thing I wanted from life was to make art. I completed a one-year preparatory art programme at Lahti Folk High School; beyond that I'm an entirely self-taught artist.
So far I've sold a number of works, taken on commissions and been part of several exhibitions. I also do voluntary work involving art whenever the chance comes along.
The subjects that matter most to me are animals and nature combined with spirituality, along with human bodies and faces in all their variety.
My inspiration comes from emotions, music, films and series, other people's art, animals and nature.
I'm a chronically ill artist, and I make art according to what my body allows. Even so, art is one of my greatest sources of strength, and a way to work through feelings and thoughts.
I love combining representational art with abstract work. I'm a mixed media artist, so I make pieces in many different styles and mediums. Bright, harmonious colours are one of my strengths, as is capturing different emotions and situations.
